The art of adornment - a joyful ritual
In Global Caravan Dance, adornment is a celebration of self, of dance tribe, of culture and connection. We treasure the art of adorning the body as a powerful act of expression and reverence.
Just as our dance fuses global movement traditions, our costuming draws from rich traditions across the world.
Tribal belts and bras of rich embroidery, coins, beads, shells, jewellery, head wraps and flowing skirts and tassels come together in a harmonious tapestry—each tribe and dancer choosing colours, textures, and pieces that reflect their individual style.
When we dress for dance, we step into transformation. We honour our bodies, elevate our energy, and embody the goddess within. The ritual of getting ready becomes a sacred moment of intention, of celebrating self and sisterhood.
In circle - with our swirling skirts, shimmying tassels, vibrant colours, and hair gardens in bloom—we witness each other’s beauty and power.
