It’s a style of Tribal Bellydance with core movements based on Middle Eastern, North African, Indian and Spanish dance styles. It’s a group improv dance with a structured non verbal format. It’s a modern dance that feels ancient. We dance in circles and formations.

Global Caravan Dance was innovated by Paulette Rees-Denis, in the USA in 1991.

Our teachers hold beginners classes or open classes that are the perfect opportunity to come along and try out this dance format with no dance experience. Learning anything new takes time, so don’t feel discouraged if it doesn’t click right away! Beginners classes aren’t about perfection, they are fun and encouraging.

Our dance can be done at multiple levels of fitness which you can adapt to your fitness level however a certain level of physical mobility is required - as is for any type of dance! We have women aged 20-80 that dance at different levels.

Costuming can be sourced online from many suppliers, including 25yard Indian Cotton Skirts.

Global Caravan Dance is a dance for adults. We have women aged 18-80 that dance this format. There are currently no classes for children.

Global Caravan Dance is a dance for every ‘body’. We celebrate the beauty of all shapes and sizes and believe the dance and costuming looks great on everyone.

At least 6 months of Tribal Bellydance experience, preferably Global Caravan Dance experience is required to attend one of our awesome festivals. Sign up to classes and plan your journey!
